The Board of Forest Edge Cluster announces we will schedule tree removal and pruning in the cluster to be completed in the fall of 2019.
Tree health and maintenance has been an on-going project here in the cluster for many years. Every four years the Board conducts a tree study, and each year the Board hires an arborist to assess our trees and to recommend actions, including pruning, cabling, and removal. This requires several thousand dollars from the cluster’s annual budget and is done to protect our lives and our property.
Last summer we hired SavaTree Arborists to evaluate the health and safety of every tree within striking distance of homes, parking areas, tot lots, streets, and common grounds with paths, lawns, and benches. On April 23, 2019, we finished the 2019 walk-through with their arborist and finalized our list of trees for removal and pruning for 2019.
Our next steps require that we publish this notice to all cluster residents on our website and through Nextdoor; submit an application for this work to the Reston Association Design Review Board (DRB); submit our Request for Pricing (RFP) to local vendors; and then sign a contract for completion of the work.
Residents and homeowners are invited to review the full Tree Study posted on the cluster’s website or through the on-line map at http://arcg.is/1HeiSr.
The FECA Board will publish dates for work on-site once those are finalized.
Residents with questions are invited to contact the Board at firstname.lastname@example.org.
