We have received a response from our representative at Republic Services and wanted to share that with the community.
"The weekly Wednesday yard waste service ceases from the week before Christmas until the 1st Wednesday in March. During this time, small amounts of yard waste will be serviced with the regular trash. Christmas trees are normally scheduled to be picked up the first 2 Wednesdays in January and if you still have a tree to put out, that will be picked up with the regular trash being that it's later in January. In most communities, bulk items (Large/Special pick ups) are placed curbside in front of the homes and this works out nicely with the homeowners and our drivers. " Concerning central locations for trash - that isn't a requirement for Republic and trash should be put out after dark the day before or morning of our scheduled pick up dates in front of your home. Residents, please be mindful that trash, recycling and yard waste should not be placed along the sidewalk at the entrance of Forest Edge Drive - or any other public area for collection.
Please see the following notice from 2013, this still remains our trash collection policy: Good Afternoon!
The date of our monthly meeting has been changed from February 6th to February 13th. The meeting will still be at 7:30 and St. Thomas a Beckett Church. Thank you. Dear Neighbors,
The Forest Edge Cluster Association is planning our annual election when homeowners will fill three positions on our local Board of Directors. The dates for this process are as follows: February 13: Seat the Nominating Committee March 23: Candidates submit statements of intention and qualifications to the Board April 1: Candidate statements and voting materials are mailed to homeowners April 24: Candidates' Meet and Greet May 8: Annual Election We are currently seeking volunteers from both Forest Edge Drive and Greenmont Court to serve on the Nominating Committee. Your tasks include: * recruit qualified candidates from the cluster homeowner pool * assist in sponsoring the Candidates' Meet and Greet in April * recruit ballot counters for the May 8 election If you are willing to help with this important annual project, we ask that you contact us at boardmembers@forestedgecluster.com. Thank you. January's Board meeting, scheduled for 1/2/2018, had to be cancelled due to frozen pipes at St. Thomas a Becket which burst and flooded Findlay Hall and the meeting rooms downstairs. We were hopeful to move the meeting to 1/9/2018, but water to the church is still shut off and the meeting rooms are still in disarray due to standing water, falling ceiling tiles, and other potential issues. Since schools have also been closed yesterday and today, we haven't been able to contact them for the possibility of getting space there for our meeting. With all of these issues at hand and rather than have people driving to a location farther away in the cold, the Board has decided to move our meeting out another week to 1/16/2018. We will follow up with the church on Wednesday of next week and validate the meeting room there is repair and available for us. Our second choice will be Forest Edge Elementary School for the meeting, but we are hopeful the church will be fully repaired by that time. The Board will keep everyone informed as we move into next week of the exact meeting location. |
